The little ones gathered by candlelight

There are stories that begin with thunder, sword fights and doors blown open by prophecy.

This was not one of them.

This story began in the grass, where the daisies had grown too tall, the candles had been lit far too early, and a row of very small faces stood solemnly beneath the old books as if they had been summoned to an extremely important meeting.

Nobody knew who called it.

Perhaps it was the books, stacked high and weather worn, their pages full of old spells and names no one says properly anymore. Perhaps it was the mushrooms, pale and watchful, leaning in from the wax like they had heard every secret in the forest and were waiting for a new one. Or perhaps the little ones simply arrived because that is what little magical things do. They appear when the world becomes quiet enough to notice them.

The BANG! Toy Co. Lulubees had gathered in their finest disguises, each one dressed like a tiny echo of a much bigger tale. A mouse with a bow. A shadowy little companion with a grin. A golden princess. A winter sister. A soft blue creature who looked far too pleased with itself. They stood together with the seriousness of creatures who knew they were adorable, but refused to let that undermine their authority.

Behind them, 3rd Eye Perceptions’ Arcanum Glory turned the woodland floor into a forgotten corner of enchantment. The candles, books, flowers and mushrooms felt as though they had been left there by someone who meant to return before sunset and then accidentally slipped into another realm. It gave the scene that lovely Second Life magic where a few carefully placed objects become a whole little world, half altar, half fairy tale, half secret reading nook for beings who are definitely not supposed to touch matches.

The forest did not seem surprised by any of this.

The grass bent around them. The flowers looked on. Somewhere in the distance, beyond the blur of leaves and lighthouse stripes, the day kept moving as normal. But here, among the candle flames and old books, time had curled itself into something smaller.

Maybe the little ones were guarding the stories.

Maybe they were deciding which one to step into next.

Or maybe they had simply found the warmest place in the glade and made it theirs.

At Age of Avalon, the smallest details often carry the biggest magic. Sometimes it is not the grand castle or the shining sword that steals the scene. Sometimes it is five tiny faces beneath ancient books, standing bravely in the grass as though the whole kingdom depends on them.
