The Atelier at the Edge of the Garden

L’Atelier is a gacha set from Rojo, out now at The Gacha Garden, and it is one of those builds where the whole thing adds up to more than its parts. The centrepiece is a Victorian iron conservatory – dark-framed, domed, signed above the door – sitting in a meadow with an easel outside and wildflowers growing up around the base of it like they decided to stay. Inside, the floor is chequered marble and the walls are lined with canvases: butterflies in dusty pink on linen-textured backgrounds, full roses in cream and gold, blossom painted thick enough to cast shadows. And then there is the marble horse, wearing a crown of tiny pink butterflies, which is exactly the sort of thing that lives in a studio like this and fits perfectly and you couldn’t entirely explain why.

Every piece feels like it belongs to the same afternoon – a long, unhurried one, the kind where you keep meaning to stop and don’t.
